Andrée Marik was born and lives in Cognac. For 25 years she worked at a large cognac house. Since her retirement, she devotes her time to literature and poetry. Her book "Cooking with Cognac" is in the 8th edition. An English translation was produced by an American living and working in New York. Ms. Marik published 10 volumes of poetry and participated in several regional poetry collections. She was awarded a National Merit of France medal. | |

Claude Lagoutte (1935 -1990) illustrated Ms. Marik's book "Cooking with Cognac". He was born in Rochefort-sur-Mer in the Charente region. Painter and designer of great spaces, devoted walker, he left behind him a legacy on paper and material of sea, mountains, landscapes of Africa, Orient, Canada and, of course, France. His paintings reflect the culture and mysticism of places he visited. He exhibited extensively and his paintings are in many collections. |
